Life Force Psychology was founded in 2017 by Vanessa in effort to address what she saw as the growing need for services to support wellbeing and health with a holistic approach that supports mind and body with acknowledgement to every individuals unique context and environment.
Vanessa is an Australian trained and qualified Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), Chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), a member of their Holistic faculty and maintains membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She has over a decade of experience working with groups and adult individuals experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional challenges from managing stress, anxiety and depression, dealing with relationship difficulties and is fostering her special interest in trauma work.
Based on an individual assessment and a functional understanding of the presenting difficulties, Vanessa works with clients to formulate an effective way forward and tailor a unique treatment program. She utilises an integrative approach drawing from her experience and training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy and Process Oriented Psychotherapy. Vanessa's most recent qualification is a Diploma in Music and Imagery Therapy, endorsed by the Association for Music and Imagery. This training resonated with her passion to support individuals to tap into their own creativity for insightful gains and unique problem solving by use of techniques that facilitate mind-body connection and left-/right-brain hemisphere processing.
As an ambassador of the Global Coherence Initiative, Vanessa is very interested in the heart-brain and gut-brain relationships and is inspired by new research developments in neuroscience and neurobiology related to heart and body intelligence and how this can be applied therapeutically to support and promote self-regulation, self-efficacy and enhanced wellbeing.
Vanessa's main goal in therapy is to facilitate a process that feels natural, uncomplicated and safe; one that allows you to explore your authentic self, make sense of your problems, identify what is important to you and learn effective new skills that take you towards the life you want to be living.
